Delicious Recipes - Easy To Follow & Family Friendly
I've been a big fan of this author for years, and was looking forward to the release of this book! Stephanie's recipes are flavor bombs and full of deep nutrition, and this new collection does not disappoint. Her blog, Instagram and Facebook page have been great resources for me, and her Project Vibrancy Meals (52 weeks of comprehensive meal plans and shopping lists) are the foundation of how I feed myself and my busy family. I am so pleased to add this gem of a cookbook to my collection of healthy-eating inspiration.
But it.
I like to read recipe books before I start using it, most of the recipes sound really good and not complicated. I currently have a spinal injury so standing and cooking for long periods of time is just not possible right now, the fact that these are 30 minute recipes is a huge help. Get the book.
Love this book!
Just as advertised.
This is now my favorite cookbook!
The recipes are super quick and easy. Its also very easy to improvise if you don't have all the ingredients. I love this book!
plenty recipes to choose from and all super fast to prep
Many of my friends are on the paleo diet, but they often complain that switching to such a diet, especially for desserts, takes longer and so often they find themselves cheating because they run out of time to prep a diet - appropriate meal. Well, this book is definitely doing away with that excuse. The author presents more than 90 recipes covering all meal types, including desserts, and they are able to be prepped in 30 minutes or less. And no, you do not have to be an expert cook. Using a clearly organized book by meal types, the reader can just pick what they are in the mood for, maybe it is breakfast or pork and the author presents a nice variety of fast dishes - all paleo qualified. Included are such treats as Thai chicken or shrimp Caesar salad as well as Indian chicken skewers. The author includes also quick overviews, such as which types of ingredients to avoid in a paleo diet. So no more guesswork. Everything is laid out for the busy person that works, and then at home wants to fix tasty meals that taste home-cooked, but are still mee4ting paleo guidelines. I received a free copy of the book from the publisher.
Some good food here
The 30-Minute Paleo Cookbook is a new collection of paleo recipes and cooking tips by Stephanie Meyer. Released 17th March 2020 by Callisto on their Rockridge Press imprint, it's 180 pages and available in paperback and ebook formats. It's worth noting that the ebook format has a handy interactive table of contents as well as interactive links. I've really become enamored of ebooks with interactive formats lately. For Kindle Unlimited subscribers this book is currently included in the KU subscription library to borrow and read for free. The book follows a logical and easy format. The first chapter covers the background of ingredient selection, what the paleo diet is, and how to streamline meal planning and prep (including a pantry staples lists of protein rich vegetables, fats, and tips) as well as a very general beginner-accessible discussion of the time-saving and streamlining techniques. The author also includes some logical pointers ingredients, and supplies. The recipe chapters are arranged thematically: breakfasts, soups and salads, vegetables, seafood, poultry, beef/pork/lamb, desserts, and staples and ingredient recipes. Nutritional information is included in the footer at the end of the recipes and includes calories, fat (incl. saturated fats), protein, carbs, fiber, and sodium. Some special dietary information is included (gluten-free, nut-free, dairy, vegetarian, etc). The recipe chapters include a surprisingly varied selection of different world cuisines: Eastern European, American, Asian, Southwestern, and more. The recipes have their ingredients listed bullet style in a sidebar. Measurements are given in US standard only. Special tools and ingredients are also listed, along with yields and cooking directions. Most of the ingredients are easily sourced at any moderately well stocked grocery store. The book also includes short author bios, and a metric conversion chart, but lacks any index or general ingredients index. My one quibble with the book is that the recipes are mostly not photographed. There are some photos, and they're clear and attractive, but they only represent about 5% of the recipes included in the book. Four stars. Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
Many Good Recipes to Try
I was given an opportunity via the publisher to read The 30-Minute Paleo Cookbook: 90+ Delicious Recipes for Busy People. I chose to review this cookbook and my opinion is freely given. The cookbook starts out with the principles of paleo and how it can relate to modern cuisine. For those needing a gluten-free or grain-free diet for a variety of reasons, this paleo diet cookbook can be very helpful. The paleo lifestyle is not for everyone and it is always best to discuss with your doctor the merits of starting a new diet. The introductory section has two pages of foods to enjoy or avoid. As the philosophy is quick and convenient paleo meals, the author employs the microwave, frozen fruits and vegetables, and other time saving ingredients. As for the recipes, I found an abundance of good dishes to try. Although I am not going to switch to a paleo diet, there are recipes that I will incorporate into my weekly menus. Breakfast: Grain-Free Porridge; Easy Breakfast Tacos; Caramelized Onion and Potato Frittata Soups and Salads: Thai Coconut Soup; Crispy Chicken and Peach Salad; Classic Broccoli Salad Vegetables: Cold Sesame Noodle Salad; Hash Brown Skillet Dinner; Spicy Curry Pancakes with Quick Slaw Seafood: Manhattan Crab Chowder; Panfried Trout with Steamed Broccoli Poultry: Turkey Burgers with Rutabaga Fries; Weeknight Chicken Chili; Chicken Fajita Salad Beef, Pork, and Lamb: Vietnamese Pork in Lettuce Wraps; Lamb Stuffed Zucchini Boats; Orange Beef and Broccoli Desserts: Almond Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies; Blueberry Mug Cake Condiments and Staples: Rich Chicken Broth; Mayonnaise; Ginger-Scallion Sauce I do wish there were more photographs of the finished dishes, as inspiration to try something new often starts with a picture. That being said, I found dozens of recipes worth trying and feel that The 30-Minute Paleo Cookbook: 90+ Delicious Recipes for Busy People is a cookbook that many readers will enjoy.
Great collection of Paleo recipes!
I have been on again/off again Paleo for several years, following blogs and just kind of pulling it together. In all honesty, it's exhausting. I find myself making two dinners, one for my family and one for me. But, with this collection of recipes I think I might be able to meet the needs of us all. I loved the collection of lovely recipes and can't wait to try quite a few of them. I appreciated the information the the author provided including short cuts that will keep my time in the kitchen down (which is important to me at this time in my life). I am looking forward to making several of the Asian inspired recipes including Pad Thai and Lo Mein. I received a copy of this book from the publisher without expectation of a review, positive or otherwise.
Great for learning how to eat Paleo
The 30- Minute Paleo Cookbook is a great tool in learning how to eat Paleo. The author actually was diagnosed with autoimmune thyroid disease which pushed her to eat real foods, hence her love for Paleo. Stephanie gives a history of why it is called Paleo and, how you can lose weight eating Paleo. Stephanie explains healing aspects of the nutrients that are in the diet, and the difference between macronutrients and micronutrients. She gives recipes that take 30 minutes or less to make so that anyone can eat this diet. One of the obstacles to people trying this lifestyle is the amount of time that it will take to process all the food for the recipe. She gives tips to help make the process faster. She explains the equipment and gadgets that are helpful to making and processing the ingredients . She also gives time saving ingredients that might help you. She has a page that lists her favorite brands that she uses. Then her book gives you recipes that will take you 30 minutes or less to make. She gives hacks, swaps and suggestions throughout the recipes in case there’s something you need to change. There are recipes for breakfast, soups and salads, vegetables, seafood, poultry, beef, pork, lamb, and desserts. And example of a poultry recipe is actually chicken and dumplings which sounds wonderful and not something I would have thought could be made with Paleo ingredients, but she does it. I believe this is a great book for anyone who is learning to cook Paleo and has a lot of helpful tips and suggestions within it. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. I am not required to leave a review but have done so because I thought this was a really great book for anyone who wants to learn how to eat Paleo or just wants healthy fast recipes.
Uninspiring
I follow my own personal combination of a AIP/LowFODMAPs diet. While Paleo cookbooks allow for more foods than AIP, I find that I can usually make substitutes & even sometimes flat out omissions to Paleo recipes to make them safe for me. This cookbook is just okay. I don't find it particularly inspiring & have struggled to make any recipes that really excite me. I ordered another Paleo cookbook the same week I ordered this book (The Big Book of Paleo Cooking by Angela Blanchard) that I love. The first day it arrived, I flipped through it, & was in the kitchen preparing my first meal of the day from the book which was awesome BTW! I have since made several recipes from the Big Book of Paleo, leaving this 30-Minute Paleo Cookbook to collect dust. I plan to hold on to this book in hopes that I will eventually find some tried & true favorites, but as for now, it's just "meh". There are so many awesome Paleo (& AIP) cookbooks on the market, sadly this isn't one of them. It's not awful, just uninspiring or as amazon calls their star system, 3 stars for "it's okay."
